Junior Infants have been learning about the Story of a Sunflower. We planted sunflower seeds and have been taking turns each day to water them.
We read a story called Camille and the Sunflowers. It is about a boy called Camille who is very kind to the artist Vincent Van Gogh, when he moves to his town to paint. Camille gives a vase of sunflowers to Vincent and the famous painter paints them!
We drew our own flowers, did a wash of blue and yellow paint in the background and then used orange, brown and yellow oil pastels for the sunflowers. To finish it off we did a gold frame and signed our names on the vases like Vincent!
