πŸ–₯οΈπŸ”ŒπŸŒGreen Schools: Unplug and Power Down To Save Energy! πŸ–₯οΈπŸ”ŒπŸŒ

29th Jan 2024

Our Green Code: "Change your behaviour, be an energy saver!"

We are working hard to reduce our energy use in our school. Our Green Schools Committee wants to help our community to use less energy too.

We believe that small actions can make a big difference, and together, we can contribute to a greener future. Here are four easy ways your family can save energy at home, helping the environment while also reducing your energy bills:

  1. Switch to LED Lights:
    • Replace traditional bulbs with energy-efficient LED lights. They use less energy and last longer, brightening your home while saving resources.
  2. Mindful Heating and Cooling:
    • Set your thermostat wisely. Lower the temperature when the house is empty or during bedtime. Bundle up in cosy blankets and hot water bottles during colder nights, and enjoy the natural breeze in warmer weather.
  3. Unplug and Power Down:
    • Make it a habit to turn off lights, electronics, and chargers when not in use. Unplugging chargers and devices saves energy and reduces your electricity bill.
  4. Wash and Dry Smartly:
    • Run your dishwasher and washing machine with full loads. Air-dry clothes when possible, and consider using a lower temperature setting for hot water.

Remember, these simple steps can lead to a more energy-efficient home and a brighter future for our planet. Let's work together to instill eco-friendly habits in our homes and communities! πŸ’šπŸŒ
