We are marking Climate Action Week by making a small change in our school. Our Green Schools Committee pupils decided to give each class a special bin for their milk cartons as they were concerned that some recycling bins were wet from leftover milk drops. When recyclable materials are "contaminated" (wet or soiled) they cannot be recycled.
Two Green Schools representatives visited all the classes to explain the new system and the importance of checking the milk cartons are completely empty and flat before recycling!
