πŸŒπŸ’šπŸŒ³Green Schools Flag: Global Citizenship Energy πŸŒπŸ’šπŸŒ³

16th Jan 2024

Since September 2022 we have been working hard for our seventh green flag. The theme is Global Citizenship-Energy. Our Green Schools Committee developed an action plan and we are proud to say that we have achieved lots of our targets since we began.

We have:

  • developed a new Green School Code: Change your behaviour, be an energy saver!
  • reduced our plastic lunch waste by switching to fully compostable hot lunches for big break.
  • connected with our local community to grow food, trees and plants.
  • reduced our energy use and had a Low Energy Month in June.
  • composted lots of our food waste in our two wormeries, and used the compost to plant flowers and help our local plants to grow.
  • improved our recycling and waste managments, especially with our special Squeeze and Squash milk carton initiative.
  • participated in a Wise About Waste workshop.
  • celebrated Scoot to School Day to promote clean travel.
  • gotten new litter pickers to help our pupils and staff tidy up our school grounds. One class is doing Picker Pals this year too!
  • collected clothes to be reused.

There is lots more coming up so keep your eyes peeled! Oh, and don't forget to watch our Green Schools video here and save energy!
