Covid-19 update

30th Nov 2021

Dear Parents / Guardians,

From today, parents or guardians are being asked to contact the school immediately if you receive a Covid-19 positive test result for your child. We really need this information in order to keep everyone safe.

As Principal , I will then contact the parents of other children in your child's 'pod' (group), to give them details of how they can order free antigen tests for their children using a freephone number. No information will be shared regarding children.

The tests will be done at home with results coming in 15 minutes.

With rising case numbers Public health advice is that children avoid community gatherings for at least the next two weeks, including indoor birthday parties, sleepovers and play dates and other comparable seasonal events.

Public Health advice is that children who have symptoms should not use antigen tests.

"If at any time, your child develops symptoms they should isolate at home and you should book a Covid-19 PCR test for them. Do this even if the antigen test has a negative (not detected) result. If an antigen test is positive, it is important that your child isolates at home and that you book a Covid-19 PCR". Department of Education

We all want a normal Christmas so I would ask you to please take heed of what we are being asked to do.

Kind Regards,

Áine Kirwan

Principal
