We Have Been Working Hard For Our Sixth Green Flag For Global Citizenship - Litter and Waste

24th Mar 2022
  • Our Green Schools Committee and Green Schools Heroes have been sharing the message about how important it is to be a responsible global citizen
  • We have displayed our New Green Code in every classroom
  • We have worked on the global goals for Climate Action, Responsible Consumption and Good Health and Wellbeing
  • We have reduced our use of plastic
  • We have learned about Fairtrade and we try to buy food with the Fairtrade logo
  • We have learned about healthy eating, grown vegetables and fruit, and participate in Food Dudes and the Incredible Edibles
  • We have worked with Fingal to plant trees in a local park while our new school is under construction
  • We learned about the food that is eaten in different countries and we learned about our wonderful cultures
  • We clean up litter, take part in Picker Pals and participated in the Leave No Trace workshops
  • We recycle correctly and the Green Schools Committee put up new recycling posters
  • We bought new composting bins and are setting up a new wormery (Péistlann in Irish!)
  • We made a Climate Action Pledge

These are just some of the steps we have taken over the past three years as we work to care for our planet!
